Britton Buttrill is currently an MFA candidate in Playwriting at The New School for Drama. Britton’s plays include IRIS (Ego Actus, NYC, Midtown International Theatre Festival, NYC), UFFIZI (Riant Theatre, NYC; Bottled Lightning/Atlanta Fringe, Atlanta), and SCRATCHING (Pinch n' Ouch Theatre, Atlanta). He has also received staged readings at Horizon Theatre, Pinch n' Ouch Theatre, Drive By Theatre Project, and The Essential Theatre Festival.
Directing credits include RED at Theatrical Outfit (Assistant Director), TAPE at Pinch n' Ouch Theatre (Assistant Director) and AGNES OF GOD at Oglethorpe University (DIRECTOR). Dramaturgy credits include RED at Theatrical Outfit and THE ODYSSEY at Georgia Shakespeare Festival.
Poetry and short story publications include The Oxford Review, Opium Magazine, and TELEFUNKIN’ Magazine. He has been the recipient of Horizon Theatre’s New South Young Playwrights Award and has been an E.B. Osborne Artist in Residence at the Purnell School in Pottersville, NJ.
Britton Buttrill is an Artistic Associate with Pinch n' Ouch Theatre and Bottled Lightning. He is an Atlanta native who now lives in Brooklyn and currently writes for New York Theatre Review.
